A born healer, Akilah is passionate about (w)holistic health. She believes that health is not just physical but encompasses the mental and the spiritual.
As a Lactation/Childbirth Educator and Full Spectrum Doula, she teaches people how to care for all aspects of their health before, during, and after pregnancy for better birth and postpartum outcomes. She is an NBDA Certified Doula Trainer and serves as the Executive Assistant to the National Black Doulas Association.
Ms. Witherspoon has years of experience working with families in their homes teaching them how to have a healthy pregnancy, monitor child development, and to strengthen parent/child interactions. She is trained as a Perinatal Community Health worker and earned a certification in Perinatal Family Support.
Balancing work and life, Akilah is also a mommy, auntie, daughter, granddaughter and niece. When she is not spending her free time with her family, you can find her developing her other skills as a photographer and graphic designer.
